Sustainable Development in Bangladesh: A Study on Islamic Perspective

A b s t r a c t

Islam and Sustainable Development is a very important issue at present to ensure peace and prosperity in Bangladesh as well as in all over the world.  Bangladesh is a developing country with more than 169.4 million people living in the area of 56,977 square kilometers, working for Sustainable Development. Healthy environment is one of the most important essentials for development. Our environment is polluting in many ways, natural phenomena flora and fauna are gradually facing threat as people are destroying it and making barrier to the development not only in Bangladesh but throughout the globe. To ensure Sustainable Development Goals proposed by the United Nations we need to guarantee many things in our society. Islam can contribute lots in both ensuring Sustainable Development Goals and save the nature and environment but to do so we need to understand Islam as well as to practice its rules and regulations properly in our everyday and social lives.
